Surprisingly sophisticated for a Pinot Noir at this price. It's dry, light in the mouth and elegantly structured, with a nice bit of acids and tannins. In the mouth, flavors of delicate plum, freeze dried strawberry, cream caramel, and vanilla bean.

Mendoza, Argentina

Sierra de los Andes Malbec is a full bodied, yet easy to drink example of what Argentinean winemaking is best known for. The wine has all the fantastic Malbec characteristics of berries and plums, mingling with a hint of warm spice flavors.

Côtes du Ventoux, France

A deep purple robe is prelude to the aromas from a French garden – spices, flowers and dark berries. This wine is not oaked but has a controlled tannin quality and is full of the flavors of more expensive wines such as Gigondas and Vacqueyras. Power and beauty for a modest price.

Il Lurce “Rio Madre” Graciano

Rioja, Spain

Deep, opaque color, exuberant flavors and aromatics of blackberries, dark cherry, roasted herbs, and crushed flowers. Grown near the town of Alfaro, the wine is structured, yet smooth and round with awesome layers that are certainly unique for the wines of Rioja. The chewy tannins and full body are perfect for those who like big, densely structured wines.

Chateau Campot Lafont

Bordeaux, France

Young from the great 2010 vintage, this Bordeaux is showing a plush, full body with polished tannins. Great finesse for the price, as this wine drinks good now and will age nicely to show a bit more earthiness.
